I do like the core message here, but I think using the Marcus/Commodus example might not be best. Commodus and his reign was significantly more complex than suggested, and there was a lot going on other than a possible parental fail. Marcus Aurelius himself, along with almost every other emperor, was also raised by tutors in the household of aging adoptive parents, who seldom interacted with their adoptive child. That alone didn't seem to have a negative impact on Marcus. I can go on for a while on Commodus but I'll end with expressing appreciation of your core message here! Thanks for sharing!
